High Street

Domestic, Residential, Extension

This project was very sensitive, dealing with a GRADE II listed building. The project consisted of an extension / infill to the side of the house and a modern kitchen, dining and playroom layout. The materials were sympathetic to the existing building, and even involved new timbers mimicking the rustic timber and special ironmongery style found in the existing building, linking the old and the new through its most beautiful elements and characteristics.

Due to the fragility of the listed building, the project took longer than initially anticipated and involved the underpinning of the corner of the existing building due to the stress the building has been under, while sitting on soil. This strengthened the existing building and should allow it to continue to flourish through this decade and onwards.

Testimonial - "Just the ease of the process and when the build started, just so painless for us. Nothing was too much trouble, the workmanship is incredible. Everyone is so lovely and respectful of us and our home! All we can say is thankyou!" - Alan & Amanda Hobby
